Account and billing
Delete your account and data
In short
To delete your Slaide account, open Settings, go to Account, click Delete account at the very bottom and type your email address to confirm. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone: your login, documents, uploads, folders and credits are removed, share links stop working and an active subscription is cancelled at once. Payment and invoice records stay for the statutory period, usually up to ten years. Export what you want to keep first.
What should I do before I delete my account?
Deleting cannot be undone, so go through these points first.
- Export what you want to keep. Files you already downloaded stay yours, but nothing can be exported once the account is gone. Files and exports lists the formats.
- Download the invoices you need. Afterwards you cannot sign in to the billing portal. See Invoices and payments.
- Use your credits. They are removed with the account.
- Consider cancelling instead. Deleting ends a subscription at once. To use the time you paid for, cancel first and delete after the period ends.
- Check for open payments. Deleting does not settle an invoice that already exists.
How do I delete my account?
Step 1: Open Account in Settings
Click your avatar at the top right, then choose Account in the list on the left, or in the dropdown at the top on a phone. Open Account settings goes straight there.
Step 2: Click Delete account
The Delete account card is the last one on the page, below Sign out.
Step 3: Type your email address
Type the address of your account. Delete permanently stays disabled until it matches, and capital letters do not matter.
Step 4: Click Delete permanently
Slaide deletes the account and shows Account deleted.
What is deleted, and when?
Everything starts the moment you click Delete permanently, in this order:
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| Subscription | Slaide first tries to cancel an active subscription and any open checkout with Stripe, at once and not at the end of the period. If that step fails, the deletion still goes ahead. |
| Login | Your login is deleted. From then on nobody can sign in to the account. |
| Documents | Every document with its versions, uploaded files and the records of the AI tasks that built it. |
| AI assistants | Connections to ChatGPT, Claude or Grok go with their tokens, open requests, jobs and export files, without waiting for the usual seven days. |
| Everything else | Folders, your profile with your name and saved brand, and your credit account with its history. Your invite link stops working. |
If the deletion is interrupted after your login is gone, an automatic job finishes the cleanup. If you can still sign in, the deletion has not gone through, so start it again.
What happens to my subscription and credits?
Deleting ends an active subscription at once, not at the end of the billing period. Slaide tries this first, so the subscription does not keep renewing. If that step fails, the deletion still goes ahead, and if you see a charge afterwards, write to info@slaide.de. Pay-as-you-go ends with the account.
- Credits: all credits go with the account, whether they came from a plan, a code or an invitation. How credits work
- Refund: the deletion triggers none. The terms say fees already paid for the current period are not refunded pro rata, unless a right of withdrawal applies or the law requires a refund.
What stays after the deletion?
Some records stay where the law or security requires it.
| What | Why and how long |
|---|---|
| Payment and invoice records | Commercial and tax law require them. Slaide keeps them for the statutory period, regularly up to ten years, and blocks them for other uses. |
| Server logs and abuse-protection counters | Kept only for the short period that security requires. |
What an AI provider did with a request is outside Slaide's control. Privacy and data protection states what Slaide excludes by contract.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo deleting my account?
No. Deleting is permanent, with no grace period. Your login is deleted first, so you cannot sign back in. Export what you want to keep beforehand.
Will I be charged after I delete my account?
Slaide first tries to cancel an active subscription with Stripe, so it does not renew, and pay-as-you-go ends with the account. If that step fails, the deletion still goes ahead. If you see a charge afterwards, write to info@slaide.de with the date and amount. We usually reply within one business day.
Are my invoices deleted too?
No. Payment and invoice records must be kept by law and stay for the statutory period, regularly up to ten years, blocked for other uses. Download the invoices you need first, because afterwards you cannot sign in to the billing portal.
Can I sign up again with the same email address?
Yes. Deleting removes your login, so you can register again. The new account starts from scratch, without documents, credits, plan or history.
Can I delete only some of my data?
Yes. You can delete documents and uploaded files yourself at any time, deactivate share links, and disconnect AI assistants under Settings, Account, AI assistants. Your account stays.
What if deleting fails or I cannot sign in?
If Delete account is missing, scroll to the very bottom of Account, below Sign out. If an error appears, wait a minute and try again, because a running task can hold the deletion up. If you cannot sign in, try the sign-in help first. Under the privacy policy, a message to info@slaide.de that names your account's email address is enough to ask for erasure, and we usually reply within one business day.
