Pay-as-you-go: pay only for what you use
In short
Pay-as-you-go lets Slaide keep working when your credits run out. Slaide collects only the usage your balance does not cover and bills it to your saved card, up to a monthly limit you set, at least €5. It adds no credits and is not a subscription. You turn it on or off under Plan in Settings.
What is pay-as-you-go?
Pay-as-you-go lets a run continue when your credit balance is empty. Slaide collects only the exact usage your balance does not cover and bills it later, up to the monthly limit you set. The terms value one credit at about one cent.
It is not a subscription, it works on every plan including Free, and it adds no credits: your balance stays where it is. Slaide has no credit packs to buy in advance. Credits come from a plan, from codes, or from invitations.
How do I turn it on?
Step 1: Open the Pay-as-you-go card
In Settings, choose Plan in the group Credits & plan and scroll to Pay-as-you-go. Open the card takes you straight there.
Step 2: Set your monthly limit
Under Monthly limit enter an amount. The minimum is €5, there is practically no upper limit, and Slaide suggests €20.
Step 3: Switch it on and confirm
Turn on Enable pay-as-you-go, read the note and click Enable. If no card is saved yet, Stripe opens a secure page to save one first, and pay-as-you-go turns on afterwards. Nothing is charged at this step.
When am I billed?
Once per cycle, at your next personal credit reset. On a paid plan that is your monthly reset date. On Free it is one month after you turned pay-as-you-go on. The card shows the open amount and the billing date.
- Earlier: once the collected amount reaches €20, Slaide bills it without waiting for the reset, so a card problem shows up within days.
- Small amounts: anything below €0.50 waits until the next reset.
- How: Stripe charges your saved card automatically and issues an invoice with the line “Slaide Pay-as-you-go”. Invoices and payment shows where to find it.
How does the monthly limit work?
The limit caps what pay-as-you-go can bill in one cycle, and it starts again with your next reset. The card shows how much of it you have used this month.
When you reach the limit and your balance is empty, Slaide shows You’ve reached your pay-as-you-go limit with a Raise limit button. Raising it, or waiting for the next reset, lets you continue. You can change the limit at any time: type a new amount under Monthly limit and click Save limit.
How do I turn it off, and what if a charge fails?
Switch Enable pay-as-you-go off. It takes effect at once and needs no confirmation. Usage Slaide has already collected is still billed.
Frequently asked questions
What is pay-as-you-go in Slaide?
It lets you keep working after your credits are used up. Slaide collects only the usage your balance does not cover and bills it to your saved card at your next credit reset, up to the monthly limit you set, at least €5.
Does pay-as-you-go add credits?
No. It pays for usage that has already happened, so your credit balance does not change. It is not a way to buy credits in advance, and Slaide has no credit packs.
Am I charged when I turn it on?
No. Turning it on saves your card and sets your limit. Nothing is charged until usage beyond your balance has been collected and your billing date arrives, or the collected amount reaches €20.
Can I use pay-as-you-go on the free plan?
Yes. It is available on every plan, including Free. If you have no card saved, Stripe asks you to save one when you turn it on. The card setup accepts cards only.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
If your balance is empty, Slaide does not start new runs and shows that you have reached your pay-as-you-go limit. Raise the limit under Plan in Settings, or wait for the next reset, which starts the limit again.
Does cancelling my subscription turn pay-as-you-go off?
No. Pay-as-you-go is separate from your subscription, so you switch it off yourself under Plan in Settings. The terms say the same: it can be deactivated at any time, independently of the subscription.
