Use Slaide in ChatGPT, Claude or Grok
In short
Slaide works inside ChatGPT, Claude and Grok through a custom connector. Add the server address https://app.slaide.de/api/mcp in your assistant, approve the connection on Slaide's consent page, then ask for a deck, a change or a file. Everything runs in your own Slaide account and plan. Slaide is not listed in ChatGPT's app directory at the moment, so ChatGPT needs Developer mode.
What can I do with Slaide from an AI assistant?
Your assistant works in your own Slaide account: it can find and read your documents, create and change them, and export files, and everything it makes lands in your normal Slaide library.
- Find and read: search your library by title and read a document, including speaker notes and spreadsheet cells.
- Create: build a presentation, document or spreadsheet from a brief, notes, source links you give it or, in ChatGPT, files you attach. Slaide designs it and applies your brand if you saved one.
- Change: update an existing document. Every change is saved as a version you can undo in Slaide.
- Export: an editable PowerPoint, PDF, Word, Excel or image file, as a private download link.
How do I connect Slaide to my assistant?
Add Slaide to your assistant as a custom connector with the server address, then approve the connection on Slaide.
Step 1: Copy the server address
The address is
https://app.slaide.de/api/mcp. You can also copy it from Slaide for AI assistants.Step 2: Add it in your assistant
Use the entry for your assistant in the table below and paste the address.
Step 3: Approve it in Slaide
Your assistant opens Slaide. Sign in or create a free account, check the permissions and click Connect. You land back in your assistant.
| Assistant | Where to add Slaide |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Turn on Developer mode in the settings (Security and login), then add Slaide as an app at chatgpt.com/plugins. |
| Claude | Open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector and paste the address. |
| Grok | Open grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom. In Grok Business or Enterprise an admin adds it first. |
What do I see when I approve the connection?
A consent page headed Connect ChatGPT to Slaide (with the name of your assistant) shows the account you are signed in as and exactly what you allow.
- Find and read your documents.
- Create and edit documents and spreadsheets: every change can be undone, and your Slaide plan applies.
- Export as PowerPoint, PDF, Word or Excel.
What can I ask, and how does it work?
Ask in plain words and name Slaide; the assistant starts a job in your account and tells you how it goes.
- Building takes a few minutes. The assistant starts the job and reports progress; some assistants show a card with the pages as they appear and an Open in Slaide link.
- Attach files: in ChatGPT you can attach up to 3 files (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, text or CSV) and ask for a document based on them. Old formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt) are not read, so save them as .docx, .xlsx or .pptx first. In Claude and Grok, paste the text into your request.
- Change an existing deck: say what should change and what must stay. The assistant reads the document first, and you can restore the earlier state in Slaide, see Edit your document and undo changes.
- Get a file: ask for “the PowerPoint”. You receive a private download link that works for 15 minutes.
Use Slaide to build a 10-page investment committee deck from these notes, then give me the PowerPoint.
What does it cost, and what are the limits?
Nothing extra: work started from an assistant runs on your Slaide plan with the same limits as in Slaide, and there is no separate account or price.
| Your Slaide account | From an assistant |
|---|---|
| Free plan | The same preview as in Slaide: your first presentation is planned up to 12 pages and built up to the first 3. The assistant tells you and points to the document in Slaide. |
| Plus, Pro or Max | Runs use credits from your plan, like requests in Slaide. |
| Exports | They use no credits. Exports from the Free plan carry a small Slaide mark, as in Slaide. |
What does the assistant receive, and how do I disconnect it?
The assistant receives only what it asks for and you approved, and you can disconnect it at any time.
- What it receives: title, format, page count and last change of your documents, the text, speaker notes and spreadsheet cells of a document it reads, job status and private download links. Never your email address, payment data, plan or credit balance, or other people's documents.
- What its provider does with it: the provider of your assistant, for example OpenAI, Anthropic or xAI, processes it under its own terms, also in the USA. Once an assistant has read a document, its content is part of your conversation with that provider, so let it read only documents you want to entrust to it.
- On Slaide's side: the usual rules apply, see Privacy and data protection in Slaide and the privacy policy (as of October 2026).
- Disconnect: in Slaide open Settings, Account, AI assistants and click Disconnect next to the assistant. Access stops at once, download links already issued stop working, and your documents stay as they are. You can also remove the connection in the assistant itself.
Frequently asked questions
Does the assistant get my password?
No. You sign in on slaide.de yourself and approve the connection there. The assistant only receives a token limited to what you approved, and Disconnect in Slaide cancels it at once.
Is Slaide in ChatGPT's app directory?
No. Slaide is not listed there at the moment, so add it to ChatGPT yourself with Developer mode, as described above. Claude and Grok use their own entries for custom connectors.
Which assistants work?
ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, and any other client that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in through OAuth, for example the developer tools Claude Code and Cursor.
Why does my assistant ask me to connect again?
A connection that has not been used for about 60 days ends. Approve it again on Slaide's consent page; your documents are not affected.
The consent page says the request is not valid. What now?
Start the connection again from your assistant. Slaide shows this when the request is incomplete, comes from an application or return address Slaide cannot verify, asks for a sign-in method Slaide does not support, or has been tried too often. Nothing is connected in that case.
