Slaide glossary: key terms explained

In short

This glossary explains the terms you meet in Slaide, from the brief you write and the page plan you approve to the build with its render check, the credits that pay for AI work and the share link that publishes a document. Each entry gives a short definition and points to the article with the details.

Which terms describe how a document is made?

Slaide uses a few terms for the steps between your idea and the finished file. You meet them in the app and throughout this help center.

BriefThe written request you send: what the document is, who reads it and what it should achieve, plus the figures, tone and sources that matter. How to write a good brief for Slaide
Question cardsThe short questions Slaide asks about points your request leaves open. You pick an option, tick several, or choose I'll take it from here. How Slaide works
Page planThe plan Slaide shows before it builds anything: one card per page, your decisions and a list called What I assumed. You edit a card, choose Tweak it to describe a change, or approve with Let's go.How Slaide works
Plan firstA chip in the start box. Switch it off to skip the questions and the page plan for the first request. Planning never runs on a phone. How Slaide works
BuildSlaide writes and designs the pages one after another. Each finished page appears in the page strip, and the assistant panel lists the steps. How Slaide works
Render checkSlaide renders the pages and checks them for text that overflows or is cut off, broken or blank images, weak contrast and logos that are too small. It tries to fix what it finds. How Slaide works
PageOne page of a document. In slide formats such as 16:9, 4:3 and HD a page is a slide; in A4 it is a page of the document.Page formats and sizes in Slaide

VersionA saved state of a document. Slaide saves one before every AI change, page action and round of hand edits. The Versions tab lists them, and you can restore one.Version history

Frequently asked questions

Is a page the same as a slide?

In slide formats such as 16:9, 4:3 and HD, yes: every page is a slide. In A4 and other page formats, a page is a page of the document. Page formats and sizes in Slaide explains the formats and what changes when you switch.

What is the difference between the page plan and a pricing plan?

The page plan is the card-by-card outline that Slaide shows before it builds a document. A plan in the pricing sense is your subscription level: Free, Plus, Pro or Max. The two are unrelated; see Plans and pricing for the subscription plans.

What is the difference between a hand edit and an AI request?

A hand edit is a change you make yourself on the page, and it uses no credits. An AI request goes to the assistant, whether you write it in the chat, mark an area or press Ask AI on a selected object, and it uses credits. Edit your document and undo changes shows the ways.

What is the difference between undo and a version?

Undo takes back your last hand edit. A version is a saved state of the whole document, and Slaide saves one before every AI change, so you can return to an earlier state even after an AI request. See Version history.

What does built mean in Slaide?

Building is the step in which Slaide writes and designs the pages. On the Free plan the plan of your first document can show up to 12 pages and the first 3 are built. Plus builds up to 12 pages per document; Pro and Max have no plan limit on pages.
