Account and billing
Privacy, GDPR and data protection
In short
Slaide stores your account, files and documents with Supabase in the EU. To create a document, your request and the content it needs go through OpenRouter to language-model providers in the USA; their use for their own purposes or for training AI models is excluded by contract. You delete documents, files and share links yourself, and deleting your account removes the related content. The German privacy policy, as of October 2026, is the legally binding text; the English version is a convenience translation.
Where is my data stored, and who is involved?
Your account, documents and uploaded files are stored with Supabase in the EU. Vercel hosts the app and runs document creation and rendering (USA / EU). Payments go through Stripe (Ireland / USA), and you enter card details there directly.
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, file storage | EU |
| Vercel | Hosting, document creation and rendering | USA / EU |
| OpenRouter and the language-model providers behind it | Routing of your request and content to the AI models | USA |
| OpenAI | Image generation (optional feature) | USA |
| Stripe | Payments and invoices | Ireland / USA |
Also involved are Resend (account and security emails), Sentry (error reports without content), Pexels (stock photo search), Brandfetch (logo search) and, if you choose it, Google or Apple for sign-in. Slaide has processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR with its processors. The full list is in the privacy policy.
What goes to AI providers in the USA?
Your request and the uploaded content relevant to it go through OpenRouter to the language-model providers selected for your document. This content leaves the EU and is processed in the USA.
- Training: using your content to train AI models, or for the providers' own purposes, is excluded by contract.
- Images: with optional image generation, the image description goes to OpenAI.
- Scans: for a PDF page without a text layer, an image of that page goes to OpenRouter and the model used there for text recognition.
What does Slaide not promise?
The USA is a third country. For transfers there Slaide relies primarily on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and otherwise on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses, but access by authorities in the USA cannot be ruled out entirely.
What a language-model provider does internally is outside Slaide's control. Slaide excludes use for the provider's own purposes and for training by contract and works towards processing without permanent storage. Upload only content you are entitled to process, and check every result, because AI makes mistakes.
What can I control myself?
- Documents and files: delete them yourself at any time.
- Share links: a link with a random identifier exists only when you create one. Anyone who knows it can see the document, and you can deactivate it at any time. Only if you also switch on Show in the Slaide gallery does the document appear in the public gallery, where search engines and AI assistants can find it.
- Your account: deleting it removes the related content irrevocably. Payment and invoice records must be kept by law, usually for up to ten years. Delete your account and data shows the steps.
- AI assistants: a connection to ChatGPT, Claude or Grok exists only if you create it and grant the permissions. You disconnect it at any time under Settings, Account, AI assistants. Use Slaide in AI assistants explains what assistants can and cannot do.
- Sign-in and payment: passwords are stored only as a hash, and card details go directly to Stripe.
Who is responsible, and what are my rights?
- Controller: Nathalie Scholl (sole proprietorship), Im Zukunftspark 4, 74076 Heilbronn, Germany. No data protection officer is appointed, as there is no legal obligation.
- Contact for privacy questions: info@slaide.de.
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can withdraw consent with effect for the future.
- Supervisory authority: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW), Stuttgart.
This page is a summary. The German privacy policy, as of October 2026, is the legally binding text, and the English privacy policy is a convenience translation.
Frequently asked questions
Does Slaide train AI models on my content?
Slaide's privacy policy excludes using your content to train AI models or for providers' own purposes by contract. This describes the contractual restriction; Slaide does not control a provider's internal processing. For AI assistants that you connect yourself, their own terms apply.
Who owns what I create with Slaide, and may I use it?
Under Slaide's terms you keep all rights in what you upload or type. The documents and exports Slaide produces belong to you as between you and Slaide, and you may use them freely within the limits of applicable law, for example in your work. Results generated only by AI may not be protected by copyright, and Slaide gives no warranty that they do not infringe third-party rights, so check what you publish.
Where are my documents stored?
Your account, documents and uploaded files are stored with Supabase in the EU. Document creation and rendering run on Vercel (USA / EU).
Does my content leave the EU?
To create a document, yes: your request and the content it needs go through OpenRouter to language-model providers in the USA. Slaide relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses for this, but access by authorities in the USA cannot be ruled out entirely.
Who can see a document I share?
Anyone who knows the share link. The link has a random identifier and exists only when you create it. You can deactivate it at any time in Slaide. If you also switch on Show in the Slaide gallery, the document appears in the public gallery and can be found by search engines and AI assistants.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You delete documents and files yourself at any time, and deleting your account removes the related content irrevocably. Payment and invoice records that must be kept by law stay blocked for the statutory period, usually up to ten years.
How do I contact Slaide about privacy?
Write to info@slaide.de. The email address is also the contact for exercising your rights, such as access, rectification or erasure. You can also complain to the supervisory authority, LfDI Baden-Württemberg.
