Create and edit
Brand kit: your colors, fonts and logo
In short
The brand kit stores your colors, fonts, logo and tone of voice once. Under Brand, Slaide reads them from your website or you enter them by hand, and the active brand is attached to every new request as guidance. You can save up to 5 brands, edit every value and switch the brand off. Your instruction in a request always wins over the brand.
What does the brand kit do?
The brand kit, called Brand in the top navigation, stores your company's look once so you do not describe it in every request. Slaide attaches the active brand to each new request as guidance: your colors, fonts, logo and tone of voice.
| Part | What it holds | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Colors | Brand colors and neutral tones for surfaces and text | Up to 6 colors and 3 neutrals |
| Logo | A logo read from your website or a file you upload | PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG, up to 3 MB |
| Fonts | Font names and your own font files | Up to 12 fonts, up to 12 files (TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2, 2 MB each) |
| Name and voice | The brand name, plus tagline, values and tone words read from your website | Only the name is editable |
How do I set up my brand?
Step 1: Open Brand
Click Brand next to Library in the top navigation. While no brand is saved, the entry field is open right away.
Step 2: Enter your website
Type your website address, for example
your-company.com, and click Read brand. Slaide opens the page in a browser and reads the colors that are visible there, the fonts and the logo, plus tagline, values and tone where the page text allows. Reading a website does not use credits.Step 3: Check and correct
The card shows a live preview. Click a color to pick another or type a hex value, drop a logo file on the logo field, rename the brand, add or remove fonts. Changes save automatically.
Step 4: Choose the active brand
A new brand is Active right away. With several brands, open one and click Use this brand to make it the active one.
Step 5: Start a document
In the box where you describe a new document, the brand bar shows the active brand. Describe the document as usual; the brand is attached on its own.
What if my website cannot be read?
Some websites block automated visits, and parked or purely graphic pages have nothing to read. Slaide then says it could not read a brand instead of guessing, and you create the brand yourself.
- Click Create without a website, type the company name and click Create.
- Drop your logo file onto the logo field, or click it to choose the file.
- Click Add color and type the hex values from your style guide, and Add neutral color for surface and text tones.
- Add fonts by name with Add font, or click Upload font and choose a font file.
What changes in new documents?
Slaide receives the active brand with every request, the planning step included, and uses it when the document represents your company: your colors, fonts, logo and wording in your tone.
- Colors and fonts: the starting palette and typefaces. Slaide is told not to print hex codes on the page.
- Logo: Slaide is instructed to look at the file before it places it. If it is a fragment, a customer logo or a seal, it sets the company name as text instead and says so.
- A font without a file: a font that exists only as a name cannot be drawn. Slaide uses the closest font it has and is instructed to name the substitute in its closing message. A font marked included in Slaide or available needs nothing from you.
How do I apply my brand to an existing document?
Ask for it in the assistant; there is no separate button. The active brand is attached to every request in the editor, so a request like these uses it.
Restyle the whole presentation in our brand: our colors and fonts on every slide and our logo on the title slide. Keep all content unchanged.
Put our logo small in the bottom right corner of every slide except the title slide.
Check the result. Every AI change is saved as a version, so you can go back (Version history: see and restore earlier states). If a PowerPoint of your own should stay the design base, see Use your own PowerPoint template or design.
How do I edit, switch or remove a brand?
- Edit: open Brand, choose the brand and change anything. Everything you change by hand is pinned.
- Re-read: the circular arrow in the card footer (Read website again) refreshes the values from your website and keeps pinned ones. Click the pin icon next to a field to let the website fill it again.
- Switch: Use this brand makes another saved brand the active one. Only the active brand is attached to requests.
- Switch off: the X on the card (Don't use) or in the brand bar. Use brand switches it on again.
- Remove: the trash icon, then Remove. This deletes the brand with its logo and font files. If it was active, the next saved brand takes its place.
What are the limits of the brand kit?
- One active brand at a time. You can save up to 5 brands, for example a company, a product and clients, but a request uses only the active one.
- Guidance, not enforcement. Slaide can deviate where the content calls for it. If the brand must hold on every page, say so in the request.
- Fonts in exports. Uploaded fonts are used when Slaide draws your pages (editor, PDF, PNG) while the brand is active. PowerPoint and Word files reference fonts by name, so the font must be installed on the computer that opens the file (Fonts in PowerPoint, Word and PDF exports).
Frequently asked questions
Is the brand kit free?
Yes. The Brand page has no plan restriction in the app, and reading a website is not a document run, so it does not use credits.
Does my brand apply to documents I already made?
Not automatically. The active brand is attached to new requests. To restyle an existing document, ask in the assistant, for example “Restyle all slides in our brand”; the brand is attached to that request too.
Can I use my own font file?
Yes. Click Upload font on the brand card and choose a TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 file of up to 2 MB. A brand holds up to 12 font files. Slaide uses them to draw your pages while that brand is active. In PowerPoint and Word the font is referenced by name and must be installed on the computer that opens the file.
Why did Slaide pick the wrong logo, or none?
Slaide chooses the best logo candidate on the page. An award seal or a customer logo can slip through, and some pages have no usable logo. Drop your own logo file on the logo field, or click Remove logo.
Can I switch the brand off for one document?
Yes, with the X in the brand bar (Build without the brand) before you start. The setting belongs to your account, so it also applies to later documents until you click Use brand again.
