How credits work in Slaide
In short
Credits are Slaide's unit for AI usage. Plus includes 800 credits a month, Pro 1,800 and Max 7,000; unused plan credits do not roll over. Building or editing a document uses about 23 credits, depending on length, research and revisions. The free plan has no monthly credits.
What is a credit?
A credit is Slaide's unit for AI usage. Whenever the AI works for you, for example when it builds pages, changes them or animates a document, it uses credits, and the amount follows how much work the request took. Building or editing a document uses about 23 credits. Other terms are explained in the Slaide glossary.
How many credits do I get each month?
Plus includes 800 credits a month, Pro 1,800 and Max 7,000. Free has no monthly credits.
| Plan | Credits per month | At the monthly reset |
|---|---|---|
| Free | None, 1 free document instead | Nothing to reset |
| Plus | 800 | Set back to 800 |
| Pro | 1,800 | Set back to 1,800 |
| Max | 7,000 | Set back to 7,000 |
On your reset date the plan credits are set back to the monthly amount. Credits you did not use do not roll over. Yearly billing changes nothing here: the monthly amount comes back every month. On a paid plan, the Plan page in Settings shows the date your monthly credits refresh.
What uses credits, and what does not?
Everything that makes the AI work uses credits, and nothing else does.
- Uses credits: building a document, requests to the assistant, changes to a page, animations, AI-generated images, the planning step on paid plans, and web research that is part of a run.
- Uses credits: voice input in the request box, requests from the PowerPoint add-in, and requests from an AI assistant you have connected. They all draw from the same balance.
- Does not use credits: editing by hand, exporting, sharing, importing your own brand from a website, and browsing your library.
A run is charged only if it delivered something: an answer, a change to your document, or research that later steps reuse. If a build fails before anything changed, Slaide tells you that you were not charged.
How many credits does a document cost?
About 23 credits for building or editing a typical document. That is an average, not a price: how many credits a document needs depends on its length, research and revisions, so short edits cost much less and long documents more.
Where do I see my balance?
On a paid plan, your balance sits at the top right of your library. Settings shows it in more detail.
- On a paid plan, the pill with a ring shows your balance.
- Top right of the library: a small pill with a ring and your balance, on a paid plan. On the free plan, the pill appears only on narrow screens such as a phone: without credits it shows “Free” until your free document is built, then the name of the suggested plan.
- Settings, Plan: the Your plan card shows your credits and, on a paid plan, the date they refresh. The Credit history card lists the latest movements, such as Monthly refill, Document generation and Referral bonus.
- Settings, Usage: credits per document (the 12 largest, the rest as one total) and your 20 latest movements; the CSV contains the full lists. This page appears once your account has credits.
- Open Plan under Credits & plan in Settings.
- The Your plan card shows your credits and the date they refresh.
Open Settings takes you to the Plan page.
Why does my balance dip while Slaide is building?
Because Slaide reserves part of your balance when a run starts. The reservation is an estimate of what the run may cost, at least 10 credits but never more than your balance, and it keeps several runs at once from spending the same credits.
- When the run ends, Slaide charges what it really used and releases the rest of the reservation, so your balance moves back up.
- A run can start as long as your balance is above zero, even if the run may cost more than you have left. Your balance never goes below zero.
- With pay-as-you-go switched on, the part beyond your balance is billed later up to the monthly limit you set. Without it, you are not charged beyond your balance.
What do I get on the free plan?
You get 1 free document and no credits. Confirm your email address first: until then Slaide shows Verify your email to start and the free document stays locked.
- Planning, building and later changes to that one document do not use credits, including requests to the assistant.
- A second document needs credits or a paid plan. Credits can come from invitations or codes, and a plan adds monthly credits.
- Pupils and students get no free document. Planning is free for them, and building needs a plan or a single-document purchase. See Plans and pricing.
Frequently asked questions
What is a credit in Slaide?
A credit is Slaide's unit for AI usage. Building or editing a document uses about 23 credits on average, depending on its length, research and revisions. Credits are not money: they cannot be transferred or paid out.
Do credits expire?
Plan credits do: at each monthly reset they are set back to the monthly amount, and unused ones do not roll over. Credits from invitations and welcome bonuses never expire, and the monthly reset leaves credits from redeemed codes alone. Slaide spends plan credits first and these credits afterwards.
Why is my balance lower while Slaide builds my document?
Slaide reserves part of your balance when a run starts, at least 10 credits but never more than you have. When the run ends it charges what the run really used and releases the rest, so the balance moves back up.
Am I charged when a build fails?
No, if nothing was delivered. Slaide charges a run only when it produced an answer, changed your document or found research that later steps reuse. When a build fails without any change, the message says you were not charged.
Do assistants and the PowerPoint add-in use my credits?
Yes. The PowerPoint add-in and AI assistants you connect, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Grok, use the same credits as the web app, and they stop at the same limits, including your pay-as-you-go limit.
How do I get more credits?
Switch to a higher plan, turn on pay-as-you-go to pay only for usage beyond your balance, invite friends, or redeem a code under Settings, Plan, Redeem a code. Plan credits also come back at your next monthly reset.
