# Create an account and sign in to Slaide Slaide Help · Getting started · Last checked: 2026-10-11 · 5 min read URL: https://help.slaide.de/sign-up-and-log-in > You can sign up for Slaide with Google, with Apple, or with an email address and a password of at least 8 characters. Email sign-up needs a confirmation: click the link in the mail from Slaide and a short welcome screen opens. Sign in again with the same method at app.slaide.de/login, and sign out under Settings, Account. ## How can I sign up and sign in? Slaide has three ways: Google, Apple, and email with a password. Go to [Sign up](https://app.slaide.de/registrieren). You see the buttons for Google and Apple and the link **Sign up with email**. 2. **Choose a method**. With Google or Apple, you confirm on the provider's page and come straight back to Slaide. Clicking one of the sign-up buttons counts as accepting the [terms](https://www.slaide.de/terms) and the [privacy policy](https://www.slaide.de/privacy). A note at the bottom of the form says so. 4. **Confirm your email (email sign-up only)**. Slaide sends a mail from a slaide.de address with the subject “Confirm your email, and unlock your free document”. Click **Confirm email & start**. The screen “Confirm your email to start” continues by itself once you have confirmed in the same browser. If you confirmed on another device, click **I've confirmed, continue**. - Tip: Nothing arrived? Check your spam folder, then use **Resend confirmation email**. More in [Login problems](https://help.slaide.de/cant-sign-in-to-slaide). ## What happens right after I sign up? A new account opens a welcome screen with three steps. It appears once: after you finish or skip it, Slaide takes you to your library from then on. - **Step 1:** “What will you use Slaide for?” with Personal, Work and School & University. - **Step 2:** one short follow-up question that depends on your answer. - **Step 3:** the start box “What are we making?”. Click **Create my first document**. **Skip for now** (top right) goes to your library, unless you already typed a request or attached files: then Slaide starts building. On steps 1 and 2 it jumps to this step. > **Note:** Your answers choose the example requests in the start box. If you say you are a pupil or a student, the free document does not apply: see [Create your first document](https://help.slaide.de/create-your-first-document). ## How do I sign in again? Open [Sign in](https://app.slaide.de/login) and use the method you signed up with. The page shows **Continue with Google** and **Continue with Apple**, and **Sign in with email** opens the email and password form. This browser remembers your last method. That button shows a **Last used** badge, and the email form opens by itself if email was your last method. > **Tip:** Signed up with Google or Apple and want a password as well? Open Settings, choose **Account** and click **Set up password**. Choose **Account** in the menu. On a phone, the menu is a drop-down at the top. 3. **Click Sign out**. **Sign out** ends this session. **Sign out on other devices**, in the card Active sessions, ends all the others. ## How do I change the language of the interface? Slaide comes in English and German. It follows your browser language until you choose: open Settings, then **Profile**, and pick a language under **Language**. The choice applies to the website and the app and is kept for a year. This changes the interface only. Slaide writes each document in the language of your request. ## Frequently asked questions ### Do I need a credit card to sign up? No. Signing up is free, and your first document is free without a credit card (pupils and students plan for free and pay to build). Paid plans are optional, see [Plans and pricing](https://help.slaide.de/plans-and-pricing). ### Why do I have to confirm my email? Confirming activates your account: the confirmation mail says it unlocks your free document. It also makes sure that password resets and important notices reach you. Google and Apple sign-in need no separate confirmation step. ### Can I change my email address? Yes. In Settings, open **Account**, click **Change** next to your address and enter the new one. Slaide sends a confirmation link to the new address, and the change takes effect once it is confirmed. A confirmation mail may also arrive at your old address; confirm that one too if it does. If your account has a password, you also enter it. ### Can I use Google and Apple for the same account? The card **Connected accounts** in Settings, under Account, lists Google and Apple and shows which of them are connected. A provider that is not connected shows the hint “Link via ‘Sign in with Google’”, so you connect it by signing in with that provider; use the same email address as your account. If a provider does not link, write to support. You can disconnect a provider unless it is your only way to sign in. In that case, set a password first. ### What if I forget my password?
