> In Slaide you manage pages in the page strip on the left, without an AI request: add a blank page, duplicate or delete a page, or drag it to a new position. A deleted page comes back from the Versions tab. The strip needs a window about 1024 pixels wide. On smaller screens, or for new content, ask the AI in the chat.

## Where do I manage the pages?

In the page strip on the left of the editor. It lists every page as a thumbnail with its number. Click a thumbnail to jump to that page. The small arrow at the edge of the strip hides or shows it.

Marked in the screenshot:

1. The page strip lists every page with its number.

> **Limit:** The strip appears when the window is about 1024 pixels wide or more. On a phone or a narrow window, ask the AI in the chat instead.

## How do I add a page?

Use the page menu for a blank page, or the chat for a page with content.

| Way | How | Result |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Blank page after a page | Hover the thumbnail, open its ⋯ menu and choose **New page** | A white page appears right after it |
| Blank page between pages | While editing, hover the gap between two thumbnails and click + | A white page appears there, also before page 1 |
| Page with content | Click the **Page** tile below the last thumbnail (**Slide** in presentations) | The chat opens with the start of a request that you finish |

Marked in the screenshot:

1. The last page in the strip.
2. Click the **Slide** tile (**Page** in documents) to start a request in the chat.

**Example request:**

> Add a new page after page 3 about delivery times and prices. Use the same style as the other pages.

## How do I duplicate or delete a page?

![The page strip of the editor with the page menu open for page 3: New page, Duplicate, Lock page and Delete.](https://help.slaide.de/images/help/page-menu-en.webp)

1. **Open the page menu**. Hover the thumbnail and click the ⋯ button, or right-click the thumbnail.
2. **Choose an action**. **Duplicate** puts a copy directly after the page. **Delete** asks for confirmation first.
3. **Confirm a deletion**. Press **Delete** under the question Delete page 4? You can restore it from the Versions tab. The last remaining page cannot be deleted.
![The question in the page menu: “Delete page 3? You can restore it from the Versions tab.” with the buttons Cancel and Delete.](https://help.slaide.de/images/help/page-delete-confirm-en.webp)

> **Tip:** To try another layout without risk, duplicate the page first and edit the copy.

## How do I change the order of pages?

Drag a thumbnail up or down in the page strip. A line shows where the page will land, and the numbers update when you drop it.

> **Note:** Each move saves a version such as Page 3 moved to position 1, so you can restore the earlier order. Pages have no names, only numbers. To rename what a page covers, edit its headline.

## How do I get a deleted page back?

![An open entry in the Versions tab: a preview of the first page of that version next to the first page now, and the Restore button underneath.](https://help.slaide.de/images/help/versions-restore-en.webp)

1. **Open the Versions tab**. It sits next to the Assistant tab on the right, in the desktop editor.
2. **Pick the entry**. Find the entry named after the deletion, for example **Page 4 deleted**, and click it. The preview shows the first page of that version next to the first page now.
3. **Restore it**. Press **Restore** and confirm **Restore this version?**.

> **Careful:** Restore brings back the whole document as it was before the deletion, so edits you made since are undone too. Slaide first saves your current state as **Backup before restore**. Restore that entry to switch back. More in [Version history](https://help.slaide.de/version-history).

## How do I change one page by request?

Point the AI at the page and say what to change.

1. **Reference the page**. Right-click the page and choose **Reference page 3 in chat**, or type @ in the message box and pick the page. The message then starts with Page 3:.
![The right-click menu of a page in the Slaide editor with “Edit whole page with AI”, “Reference page 1 in chat” and “Edit directly”.](https://help.slaide.de/images/help/page-context-menu-en.webp)
2. **Describe the change**. Say what to change on that page and what to keep, then send the message.
3. **Check the result**. Pages the last AI request changed get a small dot in the page strip. If you do not like the result, restore the earlier version in the **Versions** tab.

**Example request:**

> Page 3: shorten the text to three bullet points. Keep the layout and the colors.

> **Tip:** You can also ask the AI to move, duplicate or delete pages, for example Move page 5 to the start. That works on every screen size but counts as an AI request.

## Why can't I add more pages?

Your plan limits the pages per document, and the plan of the document's owner counts, also when someone else edits it. See [Plans and pricing](https://help.slaide.de/plans-and-pricing).

| Plan | Pages per document |
| --- | --- |
| Free | Up to 3 |
| Plus | Up to 12 |
| A document bought individually | As on Plus: up to 12 |
| Pro and Max | No plan limit, technical cap of 500 pages |

- At the limit, Slaide opens its upgrade dialog or says Page limit reached, unlock more pages with an upgrade.
- While an AI request runs, page actions answer Hang on, Slaide is working on this document right now. Try again when it finishes.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I rename a page?

No. Pages have no names, only numbers by position. To change what a page covers, edit its headline by hand or ask the AI.

### Does adding or moving a page cost credits?

No. Adding, duplicating, deleting and moving pages in the page strip run without an AI request and use no credits. Asking the AI to do the same, or to fill a new page, counts as a request.

### Can I undo a page deletion with Ctrl+Z?

No. Ctrl+Z only reverses hand edits inside the open editor. Adding, deleting, moving and duplicating a page each save a version, for example Page 4 deleted, which you can restore in the Versions tab. See [Edit your document and undo changes](https://help.slaide.de/editing-and-undo).

### Why is there no page strip on my screen?

The strip appears from a window width of about 1024 pixels. Make the browser window wider. On smaller screens, ask the AI in the chat to add, move, duplicate or delete pages.

### Can I add a page before the first page?

Yes. While editing, hover above the first thumbnail and click +. Or ask the AI, for example Insert a new title page before page 1.
